About the Mantra:
Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung is the mantra for the sacred healing meditation first taught in the Summer of 1973 by Yogi Bhajan. Ra Ma Da Sa is used to pray for healing energy for our friends, family, and ourselves. This mantra taps into the energies of the sun, moon, earth, and the Infinite Spirit to bring deep healing.
Ra - Sun
Ma - Moon
Da - Earth
Sa - Impersonal Infinity
Sa Say - Totality of Infinity
So - Personal sense of merger and identity
Hung - The infinite, vibrating and real.
******
In my practice and investigation into mantras the past few years, Ra Ma Da Sa, has stood out to me as a clear and concise tool for bringing about shifts in consciousness and supporting intentions of deep healing on all levels. During a personal health challenge last year, I used this mantra incessantly to divert attention from my fear and anxiety and set my goal on shedding the darkness surrounding me in order to bring in new light, life and good health. Mantra practice can help us to stay in the present moment, create space for positive and uplifting energy to enter and in turn bring about the healing we so deeply need to receive.
